Bluestar amsonia is a lovely 3 season plant that persists into winter. It’s lush green foliage is topped by it’s bluestar namesake flowers in late spring. Bluestar holds its own in a garden or mass planting all summer into fall when its small, thin leaves turn beautiful shades of gold and bronze. There are very few U.S. native plants that we are offering that come pretty far outside our ecoregion, this is one of them. I am offering it because I love it. “Amsonia hubrichtii has a very narrow native range, found only in Arkansas and Oklahoma. It was discovered in 1942 by Leslie Hubricht in the Ouachita Mountains in central Arkansas. ” North Creek Nurseries
