Buttonbush is a very interesting shrub that likes to have wet feet. It is a great plant for riverbanks or lakeside. The flowers are very fragrant and look like little white perfect pom poms. They attract many pollinators, sometimes covered in butterflies and bees. Buttonbush is also the host plant to some of our largest moths including the tian sphinx moth. Once the flowers pass, you are left with another cool display of seed heads, which are enjoyed by ducks and other waterfowl.
