Large-leaved aster does well in part shade and dappled light. It has large leaves that create a dense groundcover. They bloom late summer into fall with with blueish white flowers and are a host plant to the Pearl Crescent Butterfly. Asters host butterfly caterpillars and attract many bees and butterflies. They are considered a keystone species, and are a very important late season pollinator plant.
