Scarlet beebalm can tolerate some shade and moisture. It attracts and supporting hummingbirds, butterflies, moths, wasps, you name it, pollinators love monarda.It smells delicious and makes a great cut flower, it should be in every garden. Although this one is not native to the farm coast, it does not have to travel far to add some color and life to your garden. It is also a host plant to the Orange Mint and Hermit Sphinx Moths. It can get 2-4′ and makes for a wonderful long summer bloom with seed heads to feed songbirds into the fall and winter. Wonderful structure from summer through winter. Deer and rabbit resistant.
