Mexican feather grass is not native to Massachusetts as the name might imply. It is a bit further from the native range of plants I like to offer. However, I have a deep love for this species, especially in containers. I wanted to offer it as a gateway to native grasses. Although it is considered invasive in California, I have never seen it spread here. It does great in hot, dry locations and if you give it that, you have to do ablsolutly nothing else for it, not even cut it down. If it has wet feet too often, it may not survive. Deer, rabbit and drought tolerant. It is quite lovely in mass plantings, and flows in the breeze like a wave, it is dreamy. Would NOT recomend for any type of restoration work or in sensitive areas.
