Hairy beardtongue is an adorable garden plant, although it can naturalize many different conditions. It is compact and covered in lavender bell shaped flowers from spring into summer. Although delicate in appearance this is one tough plant and it can grow in full sun to shade, rocky or sandy soils, it is drought tolerant and deer resistant. This plant not only attracts and supports hummingbirds, bees and butterflies but it is the host plant for several butterflies.
